A day in the life of a Colorado Humane Society investigator
Chances are, if you’re reading this then you’re probably familiar with our mission here at the Dumb Friends League: Working with our compassionate community, we will end pet homelessness and animal suffering.
What you may not know is that in 2018, we expanded our reach and impact when the Colorado Humane Society (CHS) became an official program of the League.
Since, the team has continued to work tirelessly to prevent and investigate animal neglect and mistreatment and to promote animal welfare throughout 56 (yes, 56!) counties in Colorado. In fact, in FY 2021, CHS agents investigated 599 cases of cruelty and neglect. However, not every investigations case ends in seizure. Actually, most are resolved through communication and education. As they say, knowledge is power.
The CHS team consists of six dedicated investigators who advocate far beyond the Denver metro area for those animals who cannot speak for themselves. Hear what some of those amazing investigators had to say about the work they do and why they do it in the video below.
