Providing access to services for cats and kittens in priority Denver neighborhoods

The Metro Cat Street Team is a community-based program of the Dumb Friends League, connecting residents of priority Denver neighborhoods with vital services for pet and feral cats, including spay/neuter procedures and vaccinations.

Priority Neighborhoods

The Metro Cat Street Team currently provides discounted services for residents of the following five zip codes in Denver:

  • 80204 (Valverde/Barnum)
  • 80216 (Globeville/Elyria-Swansea)
  • 80219 (Westwood)
  • 80223 (Ruby Hill)
  • 80239 (Montbello)
Services offered for residents of these neighborhoods include:
  • DISCOUNTED spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchips for pet and community cats
  • FREE spay/neuter and vaccinations for feral cats
  • FREE comprehensive and humane TNR (trap-neuter-return) for outdoor community cats, including transportation to the spay/neuter clinic
  • FREE resources and supplies for community cat management
  • FREE trap rental for TNR (traps are not available for relocation purposes)

Outside of Priority Neighborhoods

For residents who don’t live within a designated priority neighborhood, the Metro Cat Street Team is available to discuss other resources for cats and kittens and can provide traps for rent. Given the limited number of available traps, please contact the Metro Cat Street Team for more information.

Spay/neuter surgeries (including vaccinations) are also available to pet and community cats at the League’s Spay/Neuter Clinic on the CSU Spur campus in northeast Denver.

PLEASE NOTE:
Please be advised that the CSU Spur campus is still under construction. Our building is located on the north side of the campus.

Coming from the south:From 46th Ave., turn left (north) onto National Western Dr. Continue between the two large buildings under construction. At the stop sign turn left onto Bettie Cram Dr. We are housed in the Vida Building, which will be on your right. The entrance is on the west side of the building.

Coming from the north: From 58th Ave. heading west, go past Washington St. and turn right onto Franklin St. (which turns into National Western Dr. at the streetlight at Race Ct.). Continue going straight for another ¼ mile to the end of the road. We are on the northwest corner of National Western Dr. and Bettie Cram Dr.

There is limited parking on Bettie Cram Dr., with additional parking in the lot off National Western Dr. on the west side of the building. The entrance to the spay/neuter clinic is also located on the west side of the building. Follow the Dumb Friends League signs to the spay/neuter clinic lobby. Check-in will take place on the second floor (elevator is available).
