Lost & Found Pet Admission Policies

The Dumb Friends League San Luis Valley Animal Center offers adoptions, shelter for homeless dogs and cats and lost and found services.

As a partner with the city of Alamosa and Alamosa County, the San Luis Valley Animal Center in Alamosa takes in and houses lost cats and dogs.

What to Do if You Find a Stray Pet

Take the pet to a shelter – If you find a stray pet in the San Luis Valley area, we recommend that you bring the pet to our San Luis Valley Animal Center for the best chance to be reunited with its family. Upon arrival, please park in the main lot, stay in your car with your pet, and call 719.212.6500. Our San Luis Valley team is available to accept stray pets 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
